In view of monitoring the effective Directive’s implementation and to improve its framework, Work package 5 on system to receive feedback from patients produced two questionnaires to be administered to EU patients who accessed healthcare services in hospitals which are associated partners of the projects.
The questionnaires ask information to patients on their experience with the reimbursement process with their home responsible paying agency and about the perceived quality of care provided in the State of treatment. The recruitment of patients is voluntary and the collected data are rendered anonymous.
Questionnaire 1: Making a decision and satisfaction with the choice
The first questionnaire aims at assessing patients’ decision making process in seeking treatment in another Member State as well as evaluating the quality of care received.

Questionnaire 2: Cost reimbursement
The second questionnaire is administered three months after patients’ discharge from the hospital. This questionnaire aims at investigating if patients were duly and timely reimbursed for the cost of the received treatment.
